Just got my amp repaired...what's goin on now?

I just got my amp repaired (blown power supply)...I hooked it up and tried setting the gain with a DMM. The problem is it keeps going into protect, I can't get it past 26 volts without the protect light coming on. Since the sub isn't even hooked up I can rule that out, the voltage is stable right around 13.8 volts, and all the other connections are secure. Does this sound like a faulty repair or am I missing something?

Amp probably uses a feedback circuit that won't allow it to go beyond that without a load on the output.

who did you get it repaired by? Just curious.

http://www.amprepaircenter.com I got my 12" SE hooked up to it now and it goes in and out of protect at high volumes. It's definitely not due running at too low ohm load cuz it does it w/ and w/o the sub hooked up. (Sub is wired to 8ohm load ~400watts)
