Just got hacked!!!

you can get AVG for free (i think its a trial not sure). It works pretty well. If you want a more solid AV I suggest getting kaspersky or NOD32 (you may or may not have to torrent these //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

If you want a good wall, use ESET Smart Security. It's fast, and catches about every virus I've had. The only bad thing is that it doesn't get RID of the viruses. That's what Malwarebytes is for.

Well, I've got a friend who had Avast! for over a year, and I scanned his computer with malwarebytes. I found 15 Trojans, and 14 different infected things.
Avast doesnt focus on trojans. Thats why your supposed to have a layered security setup. No AV or anti malware solution created to date has a 100% detection. Its just not possible. The easiest way is to sandbox your browser and sandbox suspicious files so they cant make changes to system files or important documents. IE: Sandboxie, BufferZone, Comodo's Sandbox, Returnil, DeepFreeze, etc.

They make great products. For the average user I think its to much though. I use Avast Free with Look N Stop Firewall. I have LnS setup to block the ad in Avast Free so I dont have to see it. LnS is mainly what I use. Its your basic packet filtering firewall versus the black/white list/app list firewalls. I have a very tight knit on my packets on my gaming laptop. Then I also have my Linksys WRT54GS v2 flashed with DDWRT Mega Firmware and I have that setup for QOS and NAT filtering as well as proxy blocking, cookie blocking, and java exploits. I use Clearcloud DNS service to block malicious domains for my entire network.
