Just got back from my first wrestling tournament

yeah my roommate messed his shoulders up, then broke his back twice in the marines (partly due to wrestling), he's strictly just a spectator now lol
I never had an interest in it, and before today i've only watched 1 or 2 college d-1 meets (apparently college is WAAY different than h.s.?) but after I got a feel for the scoring I actually enjoyed it. We'll see how he likes the track meet lol
The difference in high school and college is just like football. You got an all-star in his area or even state but when you step-up to big D1 schools everyone was the best in their area or state

yea college you get points just for keeping control (its called ride time) of the opponent, i like HS more personally. guys take more risks

welcome to real wrestling. I'm a high school wrestling coach here in Louisiana. My team got second in state this year. they won quite a few tournaments including out of state tournaments. we had 4 state champs this year.

x2, these h.s. guys were going almost non stop, made it fun to watch. The college meets seemed too slow pace for me.

One guy was up like 8-2 with 1 min to go and landed a cheapshot, the other guy came back and pinned him lol, pwned.

wrestlers go a little to far though.. knew a guy about 5'8" in the 112 or 120lb division.. thats not healthy.. and he was broad too.. like shoulder wise.. i mean i am 5'10" and 150lbs and there is nothing left to lose except water and muscle.. both are kind of important.. i remember in hs we had one of the line men 300 or so lbs in wrestling.. thats not even wrestling anymore.. its fat guys falling over..

Yeah, I noticed they all had very broad shoulders and big calf muscles, little waists and forearms

None of them would be considered "big" but they were all defined/cut. More in shape than me lol

The forearms may be small, but i can bet their shoulders and chest were big. Especially if they wrestle greco //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Legs are essential in wrestling, its the strongest part of your body.

I was always a big leg rider. Which was weird cause i was short, it normally works out better for guys with longer legs.
