Amen bro...but when it comes to motorcycles, well, helmet or not, when things go bad, and sometimes it is out of your control, you don't have thousands of pounds of steel and glass surrounding you...helmet or not, the end result may not be very pretty. As a trauma nurse I know clearly states, you can choose NOT to wear a helmet and leave your brains all over the road, or you can wear a helmet and probably break your neck...either way you are just as dead.

Be careful on the bike bro, there are a lot of idiots out there, even if you are the best bike driver in the world...and most of the idiots are driving vehicles that are waaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than what you are driving. What may end up as nothing more than a small dent in the car or truck that hits you, you may end up 6 feet under. I'm just sayin'.

I thought no seat belt was a secondary offense? Like they couldn't pull you over just for that, you had to be doing something else too (speeding, etc). Maybe that's just in Ohio...

In Illinois, you can be pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, either driver or passenger. I'm pretty sure passengers in the back don't have to if they're over 18.

Stupid or not I agree with JK. The only one that can be injured is yourself. I hate laws that are clearly for revenue like the seat belt law. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that the local government gives a shit whether I live or die.

exactly...im sorry, but i have seen numerous accidents where they lived because of wearing a seatbelt, but i have also seen some where they died because of the seatbelt...

I got pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt when i was on e 4 lane highway with a MEDIAN, and it was like 1 am, he was going the other way and we were both in the right hand lane. BULSHIT, no way could he tell if i was wearing my seatbelt or not (i wasnt though)

1.) OP, you broke the law, you got cought. Its fair for the times I bet you were speeding and were never cought.

2.) "Its stupid to not [wear a seatbelt]". Thats an opinion, just like its stupid to speed. (Im not saying I dont).

3.) Were you a dick to the cop? I was pulled over doing 48 in a 35 w/ no exhaust and an unregistered vehicle. I was super nice to the cop and he let me go.

4.) Riding a bike without a helmet is just dumb. I know a guy who laid his bike down without a helmet and he basically died on the side of the road because of it.

nah man i was nice as hell to the cop and was joking with him and shit.... He was nice too.... I was smiling when he came to the window and he said"44 in a 35, you look happy"... I was like "nope not all, but nothing i can do about it".. He laughed pretty hard and suggested that i go to court to lower costs and i said "fuck yah i will" and he laughed again
