I just got a 59 in a 35 dismissed two weeks ago because the cop didn't show up to court. I always thought that was a myth...guess not.

i should have made a thread after i got out of jail because i had a warrant for a no seat belt ticket i got 5 years ago. and when i went to jail for the warrant you know why i was pulled over? no seat belt, bet your *** i wear my seat belt from now on.

I thought no seat belt was a secondary offense? Like they couldn't pull you over just for that, you had to be doing something else too (speeding, etc). Maybe that's just in Ohio...

I got pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt when i was on e 4 lane highway with a MEDIAN, and it was like 1 am, he was going the other way and we were both in the right hand lane. BULSHIT, no way could he tell if i was wearing my seatbelt or not (i wasnt though)

Adults should be treated like adults and not have the nanny state tell them what they should and should not do when it comes to things like seatbelts in cars and helmets on motorcycles. Unlike DUI, the only person who can be hurt, or in most cases killed, when not wearing a seatbelt or helmet is the idiot who chose not to.

As a former firefighter, I have been to my share of nasty and not so nasty accidents in which adults, if wearing a seatbelt or helmet, would have sustained only minor injuries or walked away, and instead were tagged, bagged and driven off in the back of an ME van. For adults, it should be their choice and if you are too dumb to make the right one, well, bad decisions have consequences just like good ones do! IMHO.
