its kinda hard to do a comparison when the eclipse CD5000/7000 hasn't even come out yet. But with that said i don't think there will be a significant difference between the 8445/8455 and the 5000/7000. Eclipse is pretty consistent with their quality, meaning no drop off in quality (*cough alpine cough*).So is can anyone comfirm if the CD5000/8455 is better or worse in SQ compared to the CD7000? Or is it so little that no one will even notice?
They arent out yet? Whats this?its kinda hard to do a comparison when the eclipse CD5000/7000 hasn't even come out yet. but it depends on your setup. like i've said a million times in other threads if you are going with a passive setup go with either the 8445/5000. Those HUs do not have a built in 3 way crossover. You'll still have the 7 band PEQ on those HUs though so it'll provide great flexbility. If active go with the 8455/7000. I'd just go with whatever is cheaper.
The 5000 is there though. I think they had 7000 but are backordered now.Looks like a list of Eclipse HUs. Also states the 7000 isnt available backing up his original post of

Made sense to me.

It's funny i might be one of the few people who actually like the new look. But it seems like not too many people like it which is fine. But when you talk about the higher end models i think people should look at the quality/features instead of looks. but everyones priorities are different.I have to agree / disagree about the quality. The quality is there with the alpines but the features... they took away unlike eclipse which to me makes eclipse a better choice right now. But as far as looks "which matter to some" eclipse hit a brick wall with the new designs, cough.. barf... cough... gag... eclipse....
