Well here's the story.
Early September i bought an american bass 120.1 from a local dealer. I bought through a dealer because he's a good guy, its a good amp, and I get a warrentee. Around mid-Nobember I start having problems with the amp cutting out and just sounding funny, subs didn't hit as hard and just sounded wierd all together. I did tests with different power wire, rca's, grounds, speaker wire, cd players, and got the same results. I then threw the amp into a friends car and it did the same thing. Well I had the amp shipped out for repair and a week later I got a zx2500.1, which I put into my car and worked JUST fine. BTW the subs i was powering with the ab were two AQ SD8s wired at 2 ohm. I got notice back that my amp wasn't going to be getting repaired because A.) there was nothing wrong with it, and B.) I supposely opened it up because there were screws missing. I personally could have hooked up a tone generator through the amp and heard the noise on the other side to see that the amp worked, but it didn't work properly which was not checked out through the first run through, and also why would I waste a warrentee like that when I could have got a 200.1 on the forum for not to much above the price I paid for this amp? I found the screws in my trunk and popped them back in the amp which then had to be RE-SHIPPED back to AB for repair again since it was rejected the first time for some odd reason. Which currently has been in repair at that state for a while now. I have not had this amp in my possession in working order in almost 3 months. So i finally am cutting through the dealer and going to be taking matters in my own hands. I asked either for my repaied amp back at least by VERY EARLY MARCH, a new amp, or my money back. I don't think these are unreasonable considering I haven't had my amp ALL winter. I'm going to be starting my new install soon and would like my amp back to do comparisions between the zx and the AB.
Sorry for the long post but I think I should have been takin care of faster then this.
