Just curious why no one uses these?

Have you seen my video of two of the 15's in my wall....lawl. youtube just offered to me to profit share on the video because ive had so many views //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
anyways, they're shit subs. Non-standard mounting pattern makes it a pain in the *** to mount as well as you just cant throw them in any box. They also were really designed for small sealed enclosures for SQ applications not some super SPL setup that does big numbers. They got stinky on me real quick which is why I ditched em fast (and well, at the time my subs were not put together and I needed points at a MECA event so I just used them instead). IMO totally not worth the price as you could buy two FI or DC's, or Mach5's for the same price of one of these polished turds.
i want a link and 10 percent of whatever they offer you

This guy seems to be the only one who likes his HCCA's. Ice Man over in europe has a 6 15's tuned to 27Hz or something crazy and still hits 156-157dbs. When I was stationed over there, I never got a chance to hear his set-up only Okies in Germany. Check Ice Man out

i have one on the way to me right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif traded my nine.1 for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i will let you know how it works out.

Played with both.
BTL has more output and takes the same power better but the Orion isn't too bad. Neither "sounds" bad. The BTL blended well with all genres as such with the Orion.

I would say the mainstream thought is its biggest factor. The Orion gets down it wouldn't be a bad purchase.
x2 about the mainstream. seems like most ppl want internet brands or stuff that isnt as well known

if you get them cheap they are well worth it for huge SPL numbers. 1 of my customers is using 2 12.4 hcca's on 2 gp3000 amps with all the electrical to back it up and he is doing mid 150's daily in a small cavalier with a through trunk 1/2 wall setup. they do get stinky but it goes away after a couple months of beating on them with 3kw rms + per sub.

retail on them is a joke I would only buy them if they were 200 or less.

i dont agree with this at all.. u had them in a enclosure for 18's so im sure it was way above the recomended 3.75 per sub .. which prolly caused the woofer to unload hense why they started to smell ... and would like to see where anything says they are recomended for small sealed enclosure i assume that u see the QTC of .6 is why u say then need a sealed enclosure but if anything seeing a QTC of .6 i would think large sealed enclosure but if u keep going and look at the BL and VAS and QTS u would discover this sub does perfect in a vented enclosure do to the high BL and xmax it has

ive seen them get stinky in even small vented enclosures. I currently know of no one who competes in MECA who uses one of these subs and does solid numbers. That should tell you alot right there. Just not a performer for the price and hassle of a non-standard basket mount.

As good as Pman is doing with his I would have to agree with Snoop on this.
