just blew my infinity kappa 62.9i

Normally people are sad when they break their toys, but it also means with funds avalible, its time to upgrade!

I run a MTX Thunder 75.4 amp for my door speakers, as i use to run 4 door speakers, but i recently have found i like the sound of 1 set better.

I was looking at the hertz ecx 165.5 but @ $169.99 how much better are they than the kappas...? My budget is 450ish give or take some for 1 set. I do not mind bridging my amp for stronger speakers.

I also have Hertz Dieci DT 24.3 tweeters i can install if needed unless you guys feel they are crap

I run some sort of mono block kicker amp i think 500 rms? To my hertz hx 300.5d dual voice coil sub in a t-line box.

I havent sound dampped anything yet, nor have i ever used external cross overs (kappas come with prewired) but i learn quick if you can either explain or show me a video. I was looking at hertz hsk 165xl but for 6 to 700 dollars are they worth it...? Is focal better? I am just generally knowledgeable abt the few speakers ive owned. I have yet to venture out of hertz, infinity and JL, i prefer SQ over SPL, but i am willing to compremise to SQL if need be for the best audio experiance, after all music is 90 % of my concious day.

Thanks!

Bump

Also ive been told to get an 8 channel dsp

Would i need 8 channels if all i run is

1 sub

2 door speakers (1 pair)

2 tweeters

Logic says i only need 5 channels?

And would i need an equalizer if i had a dsp?
