Why is it people can build a cookie cutter rectangle ported box, put it in a car and people go crazy about how good it looks blah blah blah, but when someone does something custom or unique in a sealed format, the threads get left bare? I don't understand it. So car audio boxes need to be cut and paste style to get any attention or input?

I mean not alot goes into building a ported rectangle box, most the time. Hell, 99% of them are not even really thought out, they just google somebody elses dimensions, have someone else cut the wood, and then they just glue it up and carpet it and everyone gets a hard on like it is a piece of fine art from the renassaince.

Case in point....one reply from someone other then myself. However someone can start a thread about an L7 and it will have 30+ replies.....for the same box that has been build hundreds, if not thousands of times.

Yeah, i guess a well thought out and personally designed box is so much inferior to something some chop shop program can come up with.

I guess i could have gotten a better response if my thread was more along the lines of.....

"Yeah i am building a box for my truck."

I know it isn't myspace, but i made such a lenghty thread to get input from those that would know better then me, but instead it got the shaft.

I am not looking for people to like me, i am looking for input, info, insight, whatever that would help my system be more well rounded and productive.

You can't say shit about it, since you've OBVIOUSLY never designed an accurate ported enclosure. It isn't easy actually.

I said "MOST" of the time, not all the time. Very few can do a self designed and measured ported box. Hence me saying most just use someone elses dimensions. Settle the hell down and get your panties out of a bunch. I didn't say all boxes are "borrowed" designs.

And just a retort....yeah i have done ported...was it accurate...sure. Was it the sound i was looking for? No, i prefer sealed, so i am building sealed.

I am not whining about people building accurate boxes. I am ranting about people thinking that a square box is the apex of box building.

Yes, i see that those are square boxes....i did that just to give me something to do before i can make it to the shop...and thought i would post them for my own humor.
