I'm confused then.. Are you telling him to bridge it in parallel if his amp will take it? Your statement was wire it bridge if it can be, and it already is.

im saying he should run the coils in parallel and then he can ether run them channel to channel and have them at 2ohms or bridge them to 1ohm with ease and wont have to mess around with rewiring

More watts at 4 ohm bridge than 2 ohms not bridged would be a reason not to do that. Also if it is not stable at 1 ohms is another reason.

There should be no difference in power between 4 ohms bridged and 2 ohms in stereo with each sub on its own channel. It's a 2 ohm per channel load to the amp either way.

Whenever possible you want to wire individual drivers in parallel.
