I just have a few questions that i need lined out here..

1. Does it matter if you have more watts in your amp than you have in your 2 subs combined? Say you have two 500W subs but you have an 1800W amp...will that blow them up or somthing? Is it better to just have a direct match: two 500W subs w/ a 1000W amp?

2. Is it better to have one amp powering both subs or have an individual amp for each sub? Say you have two 500W subs...is it better to have an idividual 500W amp for each one or to just buy a 2-Channel amp and plug'em both up...Will the single amp save me any battery power?

thanks again guys, Nick

and im undecided on an amp, thats where you guys come in...use the link above if you wanna help me out, later, Nick

ok that helps but are your comps 500 peak or rms watts.....?

what is the RMS wattage? It's ok to have alot more wattage in your amp then in your subs you just won't be able to turn the volume on your HU to full..You want an amp to at lest have enough watts to meet your subs RMS watts....using lower watts then the RMS won't hurt the subs but honestly who wants less power...As far as your link goes I hate CMT trading....They don't save all that much anyway...You can find almost all thet amps from cmttrading.com on ubid.com for less...look and see for yourself. When you tell me the RMS watts of those subs then I will suggest an amp for em.....

im gettin the C12

thats fine if you look at the other site...but remember...under $150 for sure!! and for some reason i dont like e-bay because i read a post about how ppl are getting ripped off for alot of money...but ill trust you man, later, Nick

ok according to the chart on that page

the kicker C12:

500 watts peak

150 watts rated

If you don't mind getting a brand that is not that well known for quality then just pick one but the better one on that site is the kenwood kac-729s 600w amp

It has 200w x 2 @ 4 ohms.....which would be good for your 150w rated subs...There are many others on the site which say they will give you watts and they are chaeper too, but I think that the chaeper ones like pyramid and legacy overrate their amp anyway so you won't sure what your gettng unless you get a birth certificate with it....

Adam

look here: page two of the site...the only kenwood one on that page. it's $148.http://7925.adahost.com/computer/index.html?loadfile=catalog17_0.html
