junk yard alts?

I'm thinking about going to a junk yard, finding the biggest ****ing truck there, take the alternator from it, and just running off. No, just kidding I'll pay for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

I might beable to find one at around 145 amps or so, which is alot better than my 70 amp crappo and also better than paying $300. Think this is a good idea?

If you can make it fit, I think its a damn good idea. I've saved so much money going to junkyards.

Just like junk yard turbos. Even if it is in bad condition it can be rapaired for less than a brand new one. Just have an electrician check it out first.

if its a low milege unit and spins smoothly you can save a bunch

you can usually get them for 10-20 cents on the dollar

GM's Desiel trucks have the biggest alts I believe.
