I own a Single 12in L7, and i just picked up a 12in W7, I'm thinking about selling the W7 and L7 and getting 3 Type R 12's for like $300, and putting them in a 7.5 cubic ft box tuned to like 33hz and giving them 1800 watts rms, and spend the remainin money to upgrade my electrical system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

the w7 is a good all around sub, but i could sell it and buy 3 type r's, and have money left over and I think 3 type r's would kill a w7 in spl

w7's are more of a sq sub so ya 3 type r's would kill one w7 but type r's are more designed to provide more output in spl while still retaining a lot of sq, the w7 compares most to the type x, if you want spl out of the 2 go type r or w6v2, if you want sq go type x or w7

If i'm not mistaken a type x and w7 would kill a w6v2 and type r in output...

Maybe, The R is much more efficient driver than the others, and he can have 3 r's for the price of a W7. Are u trying to say a W7 is louder than 3 r's lol.

i dont like the w7 because its SVC 3 ohm too:furious: , so I am only getting 600 - 700 watts from my md2

Id do it. I put a 12" W7 in a 45 hz tuned enclosure in my jeep today just for grins, running off of a Orion 2500d and I could only get it to do this :

Also out of all the JL subs the w7 is the most spl oriented one in the line up. Dont know why people say it is so good in sq. I mean it is good, but for the money there are better. I would say its a sql woofer would best describe it. The w6v2 is the more sq oriented and I love that sub. Sounds good on anything given a good enclosure. I would do the type R's since you are doing 3 of them compared to 1. I am sure it would get louder. I would give them 2000 plus watts to really get them to wang. Good luck!
