football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer...they're all ultimate team sports. This is the first time he's played for a decent team. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Besides, football is the ultimate team sport. One man can't win games by his lonesome...
Football is an entirely different entity.football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer...they're all ultimate team sports.
insert example:Football is an entirely different entity.
- In baseball, a pitcher can shut down the opposition by himself, allowing his team to score 1 point and get a win.
- In basketball, a player can "go off" and pretty much single handedly win a game.
- In hockey, a goalie can dominate and allow his team to win by a single goal.
- In soccer, see above statement regarding hockey...
There are 3 phases to the game of football (offense, defense and special teams). A team must be good or at least above average in two of these 3 phases in order to win on a regular basis. There are 11 men on the field and each of them must pull their weight. For example, your offensive line may contain the best center in league, but if he has awful contributers on either side of him, it's not going to matter how well he plays. Your RB may be a beast, but if the offensive line can't open holes for him, he's going to be worthless the majority of the time. Your DE might be a freak of nature, but if the other guys on the defensive line are soft, he's going to have difficulty getting to the QB regularly. I could go on...
uh huh. And what team do you like?insert example:
'06 Peyton Manning won the Super Bowl w/ a mediocre team........ then again the team of scrubs they beat were pedestrian @ best.

The big name players aren't worried about getting fired. I suspect many times its actually more a case of many of the players playing down to get a coach removed that they dont like. Like what happened in Dallas this season.I think too much blame is put on the coaches. Once teams get a new coach and win a couple games everyone says "look at the turnaround the interim coach has made". Ummmmm no, the players are just playing harder now because they know they're next in line to go.
Dallas was favored to represent the NFC in the playoffs this season and people had high expectations for them. They did not start the season playing bad just to get the coach fired. They have had winning records every year Wade Phillips was there. And trust me, after the coach gets fired and the team is still losing the next people out the door are the players. The big name players aren't worried about getting fired. Thank you. I didnt know Vinatieri, mathis, freeney, wayne, harrison, clark, among others, were mediocre?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifyour refering to the SLOP BOWL in Miami (29-17)
If I recall Indy's D shut down the Bears and only gave up 10 points and scored on a int return for a TD. The other 7 by the Bears was a 90 kickoff return by Hester.
Indy's defence and 3 Vinatieri FG won that game, NOT Payton Manning
but on the other hand Grossman is, was, and will always be HORRIBLE.....

Our RBs were playing pretty well in that game, but the coaches decided to put the outcome in Rex Grossman's hands. Every Bears fan knew what was going to happen.your refering to the SLOP BOWL in Miami (29-17)
