Joining the Army, Job Question

If you have an idea on what you want to do, pm me and I might be able to steer you to an MOS. I was a 96B, intel analyst. Got a 79 on the ASVAB. It's not for everyone, but the Army is a great opportunity for a lot of people.

i took the advsab or asvab whatever it was back in High School, took it just to get out of class for 2 hours.

I don't even remember my overall score but I made 100% on the math and electronics questions.

I didn't put my phone number down or any of my contact info and they have called my at least 2 times a month for the past 5 years wondering if I'm ready to go in.

Just make sure its what you want to do, especially now you are almost guranteed to go overseas for a couple of years

im in the infantry and i love it. it wont help my civilian part of life but i work at SIA which is a GREAT job for pay and benifits so i dont care lol. Infantry Leads the way! HOO-AH "FOLLOW ME!"

if you have any questions on the air force, i can answer some for you. did almost 5 years in the a.f. and before i went in i was like you, it was between the air force and army. i chose the air force due to way of life for thier people.

I just hit my 6 year mark in the navy I picked up 1st class or E-6 last cycle, right now aviation logistics or logistics in general seem to be the best chances at going to the civilian sector. I have a job already lined up after I get out in a year and a half, I don't know about the Army but where you are at the time you get out is key. The base I am at now is about 50 thousand contrators or so to 3,000 military. Plenty of work.

I guess I should be more worried about education and oppurtunities afterwards but the living conditions would be nice... I am deff not worried about going and telling him sorry I have changed my mind. His extra 200 dollars and his 3 hours isnt worth a better oppurtunity. Either way though I am going to one of them.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do. I have been in the Army for 7 years now and I love it. I thought about getting out after my first enlistment but I was having to much fun. Do you remember what your GT score was? A lot of jobs in the Army are based on the GT score. Also, if you are having trouble deciding on a job ask your recruiter to watch the videos. They have videos for every job in the Army... it may help your decision.

Oh BTW, I was a 35T. We fix pretty much anything electronic. You may want to look into that if your GT score is high enough.

Excuse the ignorance but whats the GT score? The only thing I have done is signed up and taken my practice test and now I am waiting on my transcripts and going down to Houston. I will probably just go into the Army, I am ready..

I got the 64 on the practice test when I went up there. I am taking the asvab Tuesday afternoon.. I should be fine accept for the word comprehension part.. And some of the automotive.. But I do want to get into electronics, can you PM me and kind of let me know what type of stuff you do in a little more detail. Thanks

Coast Gaurd is going to be HUGE with homeland security. same benefits, better bonuses plus no matter where you want to go, your pretty much near water; east coast or west.

I'm a marine though, and absolutely love it. Started as a mechanic on the CH46 Sea Knight, now I'm a crew cheif. Once I finish up here, i'll probably head to the CG. Cant complain flying cap over beach cities for 8 hours a day potentially saving lives...
