Alright, I wrote this on GoArmy, and I am just going to paste.. Here are my thoughts and I want some comments, it looks as if there are more people on here that want to comment then there...
I dont want to hear from the people that have never been that just want to bash, as said before I AM GOING..
----
Ok, here is what confuses me. I made a 64 on the practice test, and they told me "Yea, you can qualify for quite a few jobs thats pretty good" So they showed me the jobs. I went in and took the ASVAB and made an 82, I walked in and they were really excited, it got me really pumped up.
Well I went in the next day to talk about jobs and it was the same jobs... They told me "Yea with an 82 you can get this this and this" Well it was the same, while I was looking at the jobs (I only watched 3 videos) I was told two times "Remember you are going into the Army to wear this uniform and back up your country, you are not going into it for a job, us letting you choose a job is a benefit over the other guys, but the job dont matter, you are going in for this uniform.."
Well I am trying to take advantage of that benefit. Obviously, I dont mind dieing for our country, I am joining the military. If I die, I know where I am going, but if I am taking that risk dont you think I should do the job I want to do and know that it will benefit me? Not just guess and say "Hey that sounds cool put me in"
Anyways, thats where I am at. Waiting on all of my stuff to go so I can do to MEPS. I am ready to go TOMORROW, but I guess I will just go to MEPS in the blind?
All I want is to get a job that my score got me and to be able to transfer afterwards. The sign on **** and all of the other bogus I dont care about. I am ready to give back to my country, but why let the years I am in there go to waste? This is what I do not understand
