Its called the ASEP program. When I grad I get GM background and I am a totally blown out ASE certified master mechanic. I work at a cadillac dealership as of now and parts and labor aren't cheap. A flat rate to do brakes on a car are $100/hr and it pays well. Out of a team of 8 people being swamped with work a good 3 or 4 make a nice 100k a year.where do u plan on making 50 grand from working on cars a year? Make specific master mechanic or something lol. Just wondering.....but why bust your *** when you can do something easier and not ruin your hobby.

I didnt see it anywhere in here, but if your a decent car audio installer you can make in the 40-50K range fairly easily
I am shocked that so many people here claim to bring in over a hundred thousand.
$100,000 is $381 a day, five days a week.
That's over $47 an hour, assuming you're paid 40 hours, 52 weeks a year.
read a few posts back dipshit, i explained how my finances are. in no way am i relying on what my father has, im in college, trying to get the basics out of the way to move on to machanical engineering. more work equals more money no shit, but i dont plan on busting my *** for the next 50 years when i can make the SAME money doing something else with less effort, and still enjoy it. ive had WAY to many friends of my fathers work on cars over the years, and after about 5 years they are burnt on working on there own. there is one rule of employment choice IMO. NEVER MAKE YOUR HOBBY A JOB.It seems to me that you have an in somehow or someway.. like ur rents are supporting you and/ or ur tuition... Well good luck with that.. For those who dont rely on trust funds, more work = more money
I'm training to be an automobile tech for 2yrs.
When I graduate it will be 50k/yr +benfits.
but.... depending on how hard I want to work and such I can eaisly make 80-90k/yr @ 24yrs old. Plus I'll be trained on hybrid and hydrogen cars. So it will probably be even higher.
