for once I wil be of a litle help

a w1 obivously is JLs lowest level of sub. It takes less to get it going and also cant have the output that a w3 is capable of. also the build quality of the w1 is not as good as the w3 and this may lack some SQ compared to the w3

the w3 can handle more power and is a better driver all around. Capable of getting louder and also will sound better. Pretty much an upgrade to the w1 and an all around better driver

pretty much the higher the number w1 w3 w5 w6 w7 ex the higher the number the more power it can take better quality etc

that's the max watt not rms. the W1 is only 150rms and the W3 is 300rms, but the W3 will still sound better then the W1 even when under power. my cuz has had 3 W3 12s running off a 500/1 slash for 3 year in his envoy with no prob and they sound so clear.

I have never heard of someone not being satisfied with a W3 for a daily driver. just so you know
