Jl w3s or image dynamics

I'm a die hard Jl audio fan and was about to upgrade from my w0s to w3s or somethin similar. A buddy of mine had some image dynamic subs that i thought sounded pretty darn good... just looked up the specs and these things dont require much space at all... would you recommend the w3s or an image dynamic sub?? Keep in mind that i have a reg cab ford with a probox for two 12s sealed at .8 cubic ft per side. the IDmax is probably wayy to many watts for me but the IDQs seem about right... anyone have experience with these two woofers??

You could still get the idmax's. Those subs are very efficent, and sound good even with 100watts to them.

i dont think those things would fit in my box...they look HUGEEEEEE...and what are the going prices on ID subs??

I would reccomend gettingthe W3v2's. I had two of those twelves in a sealed box with about .85 cubic feet of air space with about 230 rms going to each and they sounded really good...But i have never heard the idq's so i cant compare

yeah i hate to stray from JL since it's all i've ever used but i'm open for some suggestions since there are quite a few knowledgeable people here with wayyy more experience in car audio than myself...

Both the idq and the w3's are pretty good, but I will say the the idqs do hit lower, and have better sq then the w3s. So dont be afraid to stray from jl, because their are companies that are just as good or better, and image dynamics is one of them.

ok if i did decide to go with image dynamics which sub would compare best with the JLw3, the IDv3 or the IDQ v.2.....i'll either be powering these with a JL 500/1 or a phoenix gold ti600.2

Idv3 if you listen to mostly rap, IDQ if mainly rock. Thats straight form eric at ID. Id suggest the IDv3 they are a great woofer for money.

well i have 2 10w3's and i got 600watts going to each of them and it sound freakishly loud...and it go's looooooowwww.....i got a vid 2 prove it....and it showed no sign of stress

i've always heard JL subs would easily handle twice their rms power but i've never opted to push them that far...

well i did it and let me tell u..i had 2 10w3's in a bandpass box tuned at 35hz with a 47square inch port(big 4 two 10) and i did a 142 on the tl mic...

and thats with 600 watts going to each ten....

basicly go with the 10w3 and get a good amp to push them
