jl subs

is it true that jl underrates their subs like a ton. i heard that you can pump 2 times that power and they will eat it up. is that true??

keep it thumpin,

adam

I have a JL Audio 10W3, and I'm using the Kenwood 729S amp [600 watts] with it, and that sub eats up all the power I send it... whereas the Kenwood 3003 [the blue 12"] blew after a day with my new head unit & amp.

My previous setup was with the stock Ford head unit and the Kenwood 729S amp, and the blue kenwood sounded ok. The new Pioneer 940MP head unit has the 6 volt preouts on it, so it's *slightly* [lol] more powerful than my previous setup.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
