I would like to have my jl 450/4 serviced. Do I just need to get in touch with a authorized dealer in order to make this happen?

Most likely. Give JL a call in the morning and see if they will let you send it in.

no, I have had the amp for at least 5 years, maybe more......just need to get channel 1 looked at, its not putting out the same power as channel 2.

I planned on calling them in the morning....

Chances are DBR or AmpMedic will be much cheaper than JL repairs.

neither db-r nor amp medic will touch jl amps, i have have known steve at amp medics for a while and have had many amps fixed by him and not one has gone bad on me since. But he always tells me he dosent touch jl, and when the boards go to jl they just swap the board they dont repair.

Since when will dbr not fix jl amps? Fixed mine years ago, still going strong. Maybe things have changed.

the older ones yea, they can be fixed, the new slash eh, jl charges 180 because they replace the board im telling you. DBr has become very particular with what he repairs, mainly wants to stay with the korean boards last time i talked to him.
