JL or ALPINE?

The w3 defintely works in that space and is likely more efficient than the Dayton HO. They don't do much for volume.

I'm not sure what the Type R likes for space but it's likely within range too.

I'm thinking w3

Dayton HO 10
It'll probably be too quiet

Tis true

I wonder how many here have run type r's sealed, my guess would be very few & they're just talking out their ***. Truth is there wont be a hell of a lot of difference between the two.

If the JL 10W3v3 fits in the enclosure then a JL 10w6 would fit as well, I have had both of these subs, they are excellent but the 10W6 is so accurate and extremely nice, definitely better than the W3, the 10W6 combine with a JL Audio 500/1 amp is such a sweet setup. Stay away from the 10W7 unless you are looking for SPL as at higher vol the 10w7 is not as clean as the 10W6.

I like alpine but after having a few JL subs I'm hooked on JL.

Some other you may want to look at that I've heard great things on are the Memphis audio subs and the Image Dynamics on Woofers etc.

the jl is going to be pretty tight, clean, and efficient for daily listening, but you have to get through all that trunk to hear it, and you will not even notice if a sub is distorting or being clipped up to 20% or so, so all that sq is wasted, and pointless. i know first-hand, the type-r is going to make you happier in the long run, and punch through with tight bass at your head better. just make sure you choose d4 for a 2ohm stble amp, and d2 for a 1ohm stable amp. btw, i've installed both recently. on the other hand, if you aren't going to feed much power, you may just look at other lower powered subs.

See that's what confused me and I ended up getting the D2 (2 ohm) because I have a kicker 750.1 mono amp that runs at 2 ohms.. I never really understood the difference but it made sense to get a 2 ohm speaker for a 2 ohm amp.. Hope it works out good... I should have it hooked up by the end of this week.

I'll be curious to see how you like the sub in that enclosure. The only thing stopping me from going with that enclosure is my horrid experience with single sealed 10" subwoofers and their lack of deep bass. In all honesty, I'd rather have a ported 8 over most sealed 10s. The only thing better would be a ported 10, but I have concerns that it will take up more trunk space than I am willing to give up. In other words, I already managed to talk myself out of the Fi Q.
