JL HD1200/1 Power Consumption/Config Question

I've currently got a JL HD1200/1 running with input sensitivity set fairly low feeding a JL 12tw3 (shallow mount) 400rms driver. I wired the driver, which is a dual 4ohm voice coil, to be an 8ohm load so that the amp would effectively be feeding it in the realm of 600rms rather than the 1200rms it would see on 1.5-4ohm load. This setup seems to more than fill my listening range with plenty of low end I can hear and feel and the sound quality I desire.

That said, as expected, I do notice a small amount of dimming on hard driving bass lines when the volume is cranked and am in the process of performing a Big 3 upgrade as recommended as well as installing a second battery just because I can (apparently my 2014 Silverado has a second battery tray all ready to go).

In addition to this I've been toying with the thought of adding a second 12tw3 into the mix and wiring it also as an 8ohm configuration and then tying it with the existing driver to get a 4ohm load out of both. Since this 4ohm load will then be seen by the HD1200 to feed it a potential if 1200rms of power, my question lies in this:

Assuming I'll be dialing the sensitivity way back I'd expect due to the increase in the number of drivers, will the reduced gain levels to achieve a similar volume to my current configuration result in similar/more/less power draw in spite of it going from 8ohm to 4ohm load? Am I even right to expect that twice the speakers will put out enough additional lows to even impact the need for much gain? Ultimately I'm hoping to find that the increased efficiency in driving two subs vs the one will result in less work on the part of the amp overall rather than pushing the single driver louder/harder.
Thanks in advance - hopefully my questions makes some sort of sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
