Jl Evolution ZR Components

Listened to them this past weekend. They are a bit "thin". Good midrange, bright highs, not very deep for a midbass of that price range. I was comparing them to the DLS MS6 and the Morel Hybrid 6.2. The DLS was by far the best of the bunch, very natural and smooth and $300 less, but this was on a sound board, not in a car.

there alot more better out there other than the ZR's..most people swear on Jl..id look into some seas lotus or mabe boston pro60 if you have the power for them..but i think if u had the money for them..you could get a better component IMO

the JL ZR's in general are brighter, both in mids and highs. the type X is much more layed back. i havent had the chance to hear the more "exotic" brands since we only get the common brand names in here.

I would stick with the JL's. I Just isntalled a pair last week and I was extremley impressed with the bass response from these speakers! The best i've ever heard from a standard 6.5 speaker! They are extremley clair and the tweeters isn't harsh at all. The best part is, is that you don't need a lot of power to get them sounding perfect. I would go with the JL ZR, very good speaker
