i have the jl cleansweep installed, how come i am still able to use the stock volume knob? I thought you would have to use the one that the JL provides?? did they installed it incorrectly?

(btw, they didnt' install the knob that came with the cleansweep)

ssooooo wassup?

The Cleansweep is your master volume once it is fully installed. Your volume control is set at a proper level and not touched from that point forward. If it is moved you must recalibrate with the supplied disc. It's like a preamp for a preamp............

As was mentioned...you SHOULD be using the knob for the cleansweep.

The volume control for the stock headunit will still function to control the volume, since it's sending an analog signal to the cleansweep (turn down the volume on the headunit, the level of the signal going to the cleansweep decreases, and hence the cleansweep's output decreases).

Take it back, have them reinstall it properly.

Let me ask you what car do you have?

And yes like everyone else is saying, you NEED the Cleansweep knob for volume.

You can still use the headunit knob to turn volume up and down, however, the CS has to be calibrated with the headunit at a fixed location.

So let's say your g/f drives the car, she can use the stock knob, but once you get back in your car, you put the stock knob on Vol 35 (for example) and then use the CS knob to really get the juices going.
