JL Audio XR650CSi

from what he told me he took them out of a car that he towed (works at a tow company) an has had them lying around for like 4 months or so. they work and all but was wondering what people think about em. thanks in advance...

BTW i will be using a memphis 600w 2 channel to push the whole mids and highs.

wow ive never heard of this practice of robbing cars that you tow.

are these people repossesing cars or just towing for illegal parking?

how do they get into the car? i mean, wouldnt it be ****ing obvious who robbed you? so then you could press charges against the pos towing company

towing a totaled car, I know a few ppl who it has happened to. The towers dont give a shit, figure the ppl wont be back for their stuff or something.

To the OP though, the speakers are nice. Ive heard them and thought they sounded good. Never played around with them though.

I had them b4 I got my hertz. I liked them ok. For the price I wuldnt buy them again but they did sound pretty good. less midbass them some and the highs were a little harsh but not horrible.

Well it was out of a car that noone came and claimed. And after 30 days the car gets liened. An that's when they take the stuff out. There was this guy out here posted up from craigslist that he was selling all the stuff he took out of cars at the tow yard. An to answer about the repos question it was out of the cars that were illegally parked or stolen or stuff like that.

Any other responses to the component speakers themselves tho?

decent speakers if u getem for cheap. i would NEVER pay asking retail price for them though. most everything JL is over priced.

1-whats your budget?

2-dont buy stolen gear!

3-have you been to any audio shops to listen to speakers before?

4-I know Sac/ like the Arden off of Watts ave. has at least 2 car audio shops that you can go listen to those JL speakers to see if you like them.

5- Try to compare them to Boston-Focal-Image Dynamics-& Pioneers,let you ears tell you what sounds good.

yeah i live 40mins from Sac.
