JL Audio Xover question

Does anyone know what frequency JL audio uses in their crossovers for tweeters/mid-drivers? I was able to find out the slope but I have no idea what the frequency they are crossed over at. I have the VR650-csi. Any help would be HUGE as I am going active with them and would love a good starting point...

Use your ears. 2,500hz is a good starting point.

Thanks bro! I was thinking about starting at the 2,500hz point but I wasnt sure if that was smart as the tweeters are rated at 4 KHz - 25 KHz ± 3 dB

A 6.5" mid playing up to 4khz? That's unusually high... then again I know nothing about this particular component set. You're not going to damage your tweeter by sending it a 2.5khz signal, though.

Unfortunately the component set only gives you the full system freq range it plays together (mid and tweeter). If you buy the tweeter separate it gives you the tweeter's freq range. The problem is that I can't find the range that the mid plays which is my issue.

Full System (VR650-csi) --- System Frequency Response: 59 Hz - 25 KHz ± 3 dB

Tweeter (VR075-CT) --- System Frequency Response: 4 KHz - 25 KHz ± 3 dB

3-position Tweeter Level Control allows you to compensate for mounting location or personal preference. Premium Mylar capacitors and air-core inductors are used on the 2nd Order high-pass filters. The woofer is unfiltered, using its engineered smooth roll-off characteristics to blend with its tweeter.

Does that mean that the included crossover is not even doing anything to the woofer?

Yup.. I did that about 2 days ago and waiting patiently for them to reply back...

Got a message back from JL:

"As you stated the tweeter has a freq response from 4khz and up so choose from that frequency and below for the woofer"

Not much help there... Anyone else have any suggestions on starting points for the highpass and lowpass frequencies.

Tweeter HighPass - ?

Mid-Driver LowPass - ?

Tweeter specs: 4 KHz - 25 KHz ± 3 dB

Mid-Driver specs: Not entirely sure...
