JL Audio w3v2 vs w6

I am looking at up grading my Orion XTR subs to a JL Audio.

I was wondering should I get a 10w3v2 or a 10w6 (not the 10w6v2). The local shop is selling the old w6s slightly cheaper than the w3v2s (like $10 cheaper). I am going with a single 10” sub which will be houses in a sealed box (about ~.7 cu.ft), with the sub in the center of the extended cab of my Tacoma. I am looking for a SQ sub… with a bit of SPL. The Amp I currently have is a Phoenix Gold Octane-R R5.0:1 (Power 300x1@2ohms, 150x1@4ohms), but I am also going to upgrade the amp to one that will put out about 400-500w x1@2ohms....

Ide get the w3v2 since it can be wired at 2 ohms, which will get you more power out of that amp.

I am bringing this thread back from the dead, but I am really curious if people still think that a Jl Audio 10W3v2 is better than a classic JL Audio 10W6. Which one has more output (lets say driven by a JL Audio 500/1) and better SQ.

I was not al that impressed wih the W3v2 myself. What do you think?

I myself have 3 JL 12w6v1..the old schools you mean of...i wire mine down to 1 ohm load..but you just want 1 i am guessing and a 10 incher...humm...w6's are better i think...but yes wiring them with just 1 is hard you wont get the power you want and the w3 will have more wiring options

With one, i will get a 3ohm load. Not much of a diferrence on a JL 500/1 since it is regulated from 1.5-4ohms

I am just wondering which one will put out more volume!
