Jl audio or DD

Like i said I'm new to the companies and I haven't begin to think of what I can wire them down to. Thanks I think I'm going to go ahead and go with the jl's
3 12W7s will wire to .25 ohms or 1 ohm (assuming they're 1.5 ohm dvc). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I did believe that 18's were just big and sloppy but after seeing some vids I can appreciate them there just not for me.

Also if u said three would wire down to 1 ohm that mean 6 would be at .5 ohm. Also what's max rms I should go with on these subs.

Yeah, 6 of them will wire to .5 ohms, but running all 6 is kinda dumb.

So, you intend to run 6 12" W7s on 6kw+ amplifier @ .5 ohms daily?

Ok so y would running six be dumb?

And I take running at half ohm daily is not a good idea what about two 3000k amps each running at 1 ohm?

Not being sarcastic both are real questions.

ill be the first to ask do you have the electrical to back up that much power?

Ok I drive a 98 tahoe I was going to get my original alt beefed up to 200 and have a special bracket built to house an additional 300 amp alt probably leave my original truck batt in and grab a batcap 4000 and 2000. Please tell me if that's not enough and I need more. I'm not really worried about money I just wanna have a really nice daily bump system I'm 22 work at chrysler and don't really have anything else to spend money on school is paid for. I just wanna do it right that's why I ask these questions.

If you have the electrical, why not go with 2 crescendo 3k's. 1 amp per 3 W7's.

6 12's with that much displacement and on 6krms will get loud. No way to avoid it. True, JL W7 efficiency is not extremely high. But they will sound good and be able to dig very low.

If this is "daily bump" then i'd hate to see you in competition mode.

For most, daily bump is anything from a few 8's to 18's or at most a 21" occasionally.

As for your charging system plans, the double alt idea will be a must. And I would consider more than one Batcap, even of that size. Multiple runs of 0 gauge will be needed. Don't forget the small stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks I'm really hoping I can get the custom alt bracket built for cheap and I will do the multilple runs as well. Thanks

I'm still not digging the six 12" W7s idea. I wouldn't be opposed to actually buying the w7s, but I wouldn't even consider running all of them at once. Personally, I'd flip them for a nice profit and use that money to fund some of the project you want to do. If they're in good shape, you could profit $100 or more from each one of them (assuming the price you listed isn't bullshit).

If the DDs aren't priced retardedly, I'd think about actually using those. Four 15"s = more cone area than six 12"s, and the DDs could arguably take more power too. If you want to get obscenely loud, you could do worse.

I don't even know what else to say about this shit really...

wtf does that have to do with this?
He's saying the OP is comparing similar products with dissimilar design intents.

W7's get a bad rep around here, but that should only be due to the cost. If someone can get 6 W7's (12's or 13.5's) for $1400, that's a hell of a deal. And W7's are very nice drivers. Six of them would be a stupidly nice SQL setup. I really dont see the argument against that setup so long as the price is right.
