I have a gmax amp and was wondering if it would be safe to run at 1.5 ohms.The manual gives specs down to 2 ohms.Would half an ohm less be damaging?

I wouldn't, not without a decent sized battery in the rear and the big three done.

What if I set the gain a little lower say 38 vac=1000 watts.

I am not necessarily going to try it! I was just bouncing ideas off you guys! I thought if it was turned down a little the lower impedance wouldn't hurt it,but if you guys say it's a nono then so be it!
