JL Audio Clean Sweep or aftermarket?

Here's the delima... A guy told me I have to loose my factory deck to get the quality out of the music Im installing. 2 - 12" CVX'S TO A MTX-1501d @ 2ohms hopefully. Dont have the components or anything else yet. Just the subs & an amp.

I have steering wheel controls and other functions I will loose, so Im told, when I do get the aftermarket deck. Another shop told me to look into a JL Audio Clean Sweep unit. CL441-DSP. Says the few folks he has seen use'em get even better performance from the unit than some aftermarkets.

If Ive gotta loose the factory deck Im gonna go 7" touch. Has anyone had to deal with one of these units? If so how much trouble am I really getting mysef in? If it'll be the 7" can someone recommend something reasonable for the quality, say under $600? Id rather it cost less & have seen a few but I aint sure of the screen quality.

Help!!!

Aftermarket always has and always will be the BEST option for car audio. Clean sweep and other similar products are just for those who insist on keeping their factory look in the dash.

To answer gl0ck, Ima toss this into a Monte Carlo '04. Nice size trunk but I needa keep space for new sons things if need be. Is the Cleansweep really worth the bread?

Am I going to loose 'big' on sound quality with the factory & the Clean Sweep? Its only a couple of 12's so Im trying to make sure I use well what I have.

Ive heard clean sweep is the best if you must keep the factory radio. That being said, for the price you can get a way better aftermarket HU. The sound will be much better. You might be able to keep you steering wheel functions also. I kept a factory Hu cause of the controlls and regret it now, as my new truck didnt have them ,so I bought a aftrmarket HU, the system slams now. No looking back, aftermarket all the way!

if it is an 04 i would go aftermarket, you can get as mentioned the Pac Swix to keep the controls as i would suggest, Cleansweep would be a necessity if it were say in a 07 Bmw where if you were to take the radio out, you would lose Bt and the other nice options.
