JL Audio Amp Line?

I know they have a reputation for making good and very power efficient Subs. But how are their line of amps? I'm thinking of changing amps and was wondering about their amps.

Also can some one tell me the thing as far as amp rating/class....I've seen in mags and on the net "class A/B, A and so on" or whatever....what do they really mean. And how does this classification work or what are the qualities or features an amp needs to be considered in such classes....

Thanks

To each his own, I suppose, but I stronly disagree. Although PPI make a very good amplifier, I would not compare HiFonics to JL. What features don't you like on the JL amps?? The 0.05% THD from their monoblocks, the onboard crossover, and parametric EQ or the infrasonic filter? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I agree that they(JL) are pretty pricey. But so are PPI and Hifonics amps. I already own a 6 channel PPI infact.....but the sub channel doesnt give me much control(fixed LP @ 90hz with a bass boost of +1-+18 if I remember right. Also cant use any kind of eq or x-over on the amp cause it only has a front and a rear input so even getting an EQ wont help me out....also asked PPI about they said cant do it with that setup. Dont get me wrong though it is still a very good amp. It hasnt cut off on me and I've had it for close to 2/3 years now. I just want something that gives me more control as far as X-over frequencies...so any suggestions on good amps would be great.
