Just went into my local shop to buy another sub amp with more power. Had my mind set on a JL500/1. Due to my amps being mounted on the back wall of my truck behind the seat. The amp controls/connections on the slash series would be difficult to access from the bottom. The dealer steered me toward the a series.
I purchase the A1400 which is rated at 320x1@4ohm & 500x1@2ohm. I am running a 10" infinity perfect dvc @2ohm. Hooked this amp up and my Perfect changed its personality. My alpine mrp-m350 @ 350watts drove the sub but nothing like this JL. My sub hits twice as hard and tighter more controlled. If you are looking at JL amps don't disregard the a series. I am very pleased with mine.
