JL Audio 6W3V3-4 used for midbass?

These are pretty deep for their size because they are a true subwoofer, I just installed a pair in my wife's suv and these da*n things will hammer. If you have doors deep enough then sure try them out....

 
Yes it is primarily a subwoofer but seeing as how it has a usable frequency range of 30-300hz and midbass general falls somewhere around 60-275hz approx. surely it would hurt to at least try them to see how they fair especially if you already have them....

 
I was told the JLs are very good sounding and drop pretty low, but dont do that well IB. You basically need an enclosure for them to sound good. Again, I never heard them in a door, but my local JL shop said they have tried and the results werent that great. They said the sound like a completely different speaker in a box of some sort.
