i am lookin at this amp for my JL W6 10" sub. its ratd at 500 watts RMS from 1.5-4 ohms. i saw that it has a 50 amp fuse. the lower line model the JL e1400D amp is rated at 500 rms from 2-4ohms. does the e1400D really put out 500 watts rms? also which amp would be best to use? thanx !!!

Go with the slash. The e puts out 400W x 1 RMS @ 12.5v, but only at 2 ohms. At 4 ohms its 240W. See Apendix C in this PDF: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/eSeries%20Amps/e1400D.pdf

The Slash does its power at any ohm and any voltage due to the RIPS. Plus it does a little more than the advertised power. I think it consistantly puts out about 50-60 or so watts over on bench tests.

I've had the 500/1 and it is **** good amp. Pounded my 12W3v2's. Took a road trip from LA to south Fl. pounding the whole way, never cut out, never got hot, nothing. Delivered whenever called upon
