Jl Audio 500/1 Slash Series

I got a Jl Audio 500/1 and 2 MTX 12" 5500 the the MTX's are rated at 300 rms

(watts) and the amp is pushing 500 rms so with the pair of the MTX's on the 500/1 I shouldnt have any problems right..like the amp giving off to much power blowing the subs or the amp not giving off enough power and frying I would appreciate some suggestions..Im running it on 4 awg power wire..havent decided if I am going to get a cap yet or not?

I would get an amp thats more powerfull, set the gains appropriatley, and your subs won't mind. Clean power at the subs RMS, rather than amp maxed out, subs only, say 80%?

look man i think that u need a powerful amp at least 600 rms in 2 ohm because the 500 that ur amp is giving in reality is 250 for one bass and 250 for the other hope it can help u
