No gimmicks, like the title says;) . Which would you think is a better match for the 500/1? Will one get louder than the other, etc? I Know iDMAX says 1000watts rms but i've also heard that you don't need that much to extract a lot of output.

Will be going in a sealed box, if that helps.

Thanks

Colin

You're not biased are you? haha j/k

I haven't been disappointed with my 2 300/2, i doubt i will with the 500/1 powering the W6v2, plus i do like the fact you can get a grill for the W6v2. I am in grad school and have to pack the trunk full to go home every once and awhile. I don't think you could put a grill on the IDmax, that thing looks like its gonna jump right out of the box and onto the street when it hits.

any more opinions?

Thanks guys

No sir, just that you have an amp pushing out 500 watts, and you want a sub that should be ran at 1000 watts RMS.
if you knew anything about idmax's you'd know that 1kW is pretty much the most you'd ever want to give to it. ask anyone at ID, they'll tell you anything between 500~800W is perfect
