JL audio 300/2 + Diamond Audio Hexes

Hey all,

I picked up a JL 300/2 for a STEAL at a car show yesterday, and im installing it as we speak. when i hooked everything up, there is very faint sound, like faint enough so the only way to hear it is to put your ear right up next to it. Now, on the other side, it's loud and clear and sounds pretty **** good. it is a passive setup and im using the crossovers that came with the amp...gain is turned down for now..

any ideas anyone?

Is the sound low or high pitched?

neither, it's just really low. i put my head right next to the door and i can hear it

swapped the right and left channels, the same thing happens but to the left side compared to the right. amp must be bad

Does the left cable run along your power wires?

yeah it is..hmm but it plays when i plug the left side speakers into the right side channel of the amp

Ok you asked me about this earlier.

Try swapping the channels the rca's are plugged into and see if it switches from one side to the other.

Like I said earlier take a dmm to the channels and see if they are putting out the same power.
