JL Audio 12W1v2

Hook'em Horns...
This is my first post here. I was thinking about getting a 12W1v2 with the 250.1 amp for my ranger. I really just want to add some bass to my stock radio. But I would like a sub that has some kick. Enough that I can feel the bass but not heard down the street.

Would this setup be enough to do that?

For what it sounds like you are looking for, that would sound good. I had two of them in my f-150 hooked up to a 250.1, which I am actually selling. If you would be interested, I can save you a bunch of money and they are in great shape. PM me if you want. I could sell you one 12" and the 250.1 really cheap if you only want one. I'm talking less than you can buy the amp for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

umm all he was asking is if a standard sealed truck box would work? How is that acting tough?

I'm confused lol...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

As long as the specs on the sealed box match up to the specs that JL recommends. Check their website and see what it says. I forget honestly. I have the Prowedge box that they sell for them myself.

hmm orange crush is a comedian...
all i said was 12W1v2 with a 250/1 is a good setup if you just want some bass. No need to act all tough on the 2nd post bud.
Sorry, I didn't know it sounded like I was trying to be a tough guy. I was just asking if a standard truck box would do and just stating that my truck was a Ranger SuperCab since you put depending on what vehicle it was.

Thanks for the info.

I've heard a 10w1 sealed box on a jl 250 in a ranger supercab. It did add a little bass to the stock system. sounded great, wasn't loud.

my apologies, it looked like he quoted me in his signature. and i just read **** too quick

Anyway JL recommends atleast 1.25 ft^3 sealed. If you can go bigger do it, but if you can't you should still be alright cuz your giving the plenty of power.

I had my 12w1v2 sealed (140watt Alpine amp).....sounded good and got decently loud.......placed the sub in a ported box and it still sounds good yet gets quite a bit louder.
