out of curiousity, why would you want your fronts at 50 and rears at 200??

Probably so he could either run active and run the 50 channels to the highs and 200 channesl to the mids or run passive and run the 200's to the front and 50's to the rear fill.

That would be cool - but lets face it, they sell amps and they've combined two of their most populat amps into one small package. I would expect $800-900 price. Their HD600/4 retails for $799 already, I think.

I really like that amp producing companies are going smaller and not larger

I like to be able to hide my amps, sure large amp casings look cool, but they take up alot of cargo room

MSPR is $1,100 for the HD 800/5.

According to MSmith on DIYMA, he says that staggering the channels complicated things... retailer training and customer inquiries, etc.

There's more discussion on this amp here.

What they really need is an HD1000/7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

too small.too late.

Alpine PDX has a 5 channel if I am not mistaken and The Memphis Belle PWNS them all
Alpine's sub channel is 300 watts.

This is a better amp anyway, imo. I love my HD amps.

Why is it "too late"? The other companies are not using the same technology, and since when is competition a reason not to make something?

BTW, this amp was announced a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm never first with this info but I didn't see it mentioned here before - and I was excited when I found it on JLs site. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah. But, I would much rather take a larger amp than a smaller one. Purely because I live in Florida, so my trunk gets hot, and I like having my amps have more surface area for heat to dissipate from. If a small foot-print amp can boast the same amount of cooling, somehow, I'd take it up.

... has anyone tried to liquid cool their amps before? That would be dopppeee.
