jl 8w7 vs kicker s10L5

I have been running a 10" solobaric L5 with a clarion apx1300 amp. The amp puts out 400w rms at 2 ohms and 300 at 4 ohms. I just recently bought a JL 8w7 in a custom jl ported box and am planning on running it off the same amp. Can anyone tell me what kind of difference in sound I can expect from the new setup? thanks in advance.

X2................. IMO the S10L5 will sound better though, guess it depends on your vehicle some though

as in you are going with 2 jl8w7's vs the 1 S10L5????

alright then.......... I was about to retract my first thoughts there for a moment.

I'd say the S10L5 will be better then.

I had 2 Kicker S10L5 and also a pr of the L7's. I sold them all and got 2 JL 10w7's and run them off the same amp (JL 1000/1) and i thought the S10L7's were WAAAYY better. I didnt see a HUGE difference in my L5's and my L7's though. Both in the same size ported enclosure and sounded pretty **** close. GOD did they slam. I still hate myself every now and then for selling them. Keep us posted.

yeah i like the kicker but I just want to try something new and go a little more for sound quality which i'm sure i can expect with this 8w7 coming

I have never owned the 8w7, but I WAS NOT impressed with my pr of 10w7's of my single 12w7. Just wasn't what everyone hyped it up to be IMO. Hope you do enjoy it though! i guess for an 8" sub, they will get pretty loud.
