i really dont think they were abused i just think they sat up in some dust for a while and dry rotted the surround

JL's website I think says they no longer do reconing of w6v1's. Might wanna try emailing them.

They don't do W6v1 recones anymore. I've tried. I've got 3 10s in similar shape from being stored in less than ideal conditions.

They look like they just rotted. Try the foam, but if that doesn't work you are probably out of luck.

honestly, your best bet is to be as careful as possible and try to dismantle it without cutting. then get a new surround somewhere and re assemble.

because you will HAVE to re-shim the voice coil in order to ensure the speaker is aligned, and that requires popping the dust cap off...

yea i think its gonna be a lot of bullchit to get these working. i contacted jl audio and you guys are right, they no longer recone those subs. i might send these lil babies to fi and see if they can do something with them. do yall think fi could recone them? i know they dont have 8's but im sure if i sent them some..... not sure what size the coil is however. anyone?
