Jl 500.1 Underpower CVXs?

Will a JL 500.1 even move 2 12" CVXs Im wondering because I have the opportunity to buy 2 12 cvxs, but I dont have a 1000.1 yet, and I dont wanna go without the system I just got it up and running :/

JL does 500 rms, the CVXs are 1500rms total, so if it does push them, it will by no means be optimal

But do you think it would push them enough to make them work? What is the biggest issue with underpowering? Does it just lose lower frequencies?

Just buy a less expensive amplifier that'll do the power you need.

Something like a MB Quart DSC1500.1D will fit the bill just fine (if the CVX's are 4 ohm dvc).

There was one in the classifieds not long ago for like $150. See if it's still available...

Thats the plan, well Im going with a JL 1000/1 with in the next week or two, but I dont wanna go without the system since I just got it up haha

ahhh why?! Ive just always loved JL Ive never had one fail me since i was 16 (im 25) What do you recommend?

sundown/crescendo(not sure on spelling)/atomic/mmats/ most anything else.. you're paying so much for just the JL name.

its not that the jl is bad its just you can get more power for the same amount of money,how much did you pay for that 500?

yes a jl 500 will give you bass until you can get another amp
