JL 500/1 settings??

I have a Jl 500/1 and Im wondering what kind of settings I should be running??

Preamp Output (Not using another Amp.) ( Do they matter?)

Filter Freq. Its at 80hz

Output Mode. Out Filter

Filter Slope. 24db

Filter Mode. LP

Infrasonic Filter

Infrasonic Freq. 22hz

Mode. On

"Q". 0.7

Center Freq. 76

Boost. 6db

Bass Eq. On

Amp LP Filter

Slope. 12db

Filter Freq. 80hz

Are these setting jacked up or am I somewhat close? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The bass boost (which I don't recommend you use at all) center frequency seems to be too high considering you are using the crossover to cut off 80hz and up.

I personally like to cross over my subs much lower. But I use mid bass drivers too.

What kind of box do you have?

I have a custom 4ft^3 tuned to 34hz. I just have stock speakers for right now, which dont have much midbass. What exactly is the center freq? I think my settings might have something to do with my problem of not hitting the lows very well. Well considering I dont have much midbass what settings would you recommend?

The center frequency is the main frequency your boosting. I'd start w/ it @ around 35 & adjust it to your liking from there(or don't use boost at all) . Check out JL's site they have some informative tutorials on their amp settings.
