JL 500/1 settings with a HO 12w7

As all of you know I was looking for a 12w7, and the reason I say that is because I bumped some old threads due to ignorance!

Well I got it, and I have it hooked up to a JL 500/1 amp for now. I went on the JL site for some tuning and they show you exactly what to set it as....

What I wanna know is what are they holding back on and what is the real settings I should have?? in the picture i attached is what I have it as now.

Any help would be appreciated, you guys have been more than helpful in the past!

by the way I couldn't find page 10 online, only settings for the 1000/1 so I used those.

I have the gain up to the MAX, should I not? I thought since it's a 500 and thats weak for this sub i would need all the gain i can get.

500 believe it or not isnt bad for that sub... it is done a lot and should sound good. The tuning shown on the amp is correct and the gain control needs to be set wherever you like it
