JL 500/1 repair

Anyone know where I can get one fixed at a decent price? I have one that has no output and drains the car battery. Local shops are saying 3 weeks and $275 to fix it. Any other options?

Its about 2-3 years old and is of course not under warranty.

Send it to JL. they have a flat rate of $180 to fix amps with a 90 day warranty.

Thats a lot better than local shops I guess. Even at $180 it would not be too much more to buy a used one. decisions...

I wonder if they would just sell me the guts to this thing so I could swap them out.

Also keep in mind that if you send it somewhere else to get fixed and the amp fails again JL wont touch it. If it was another amp i would send it to KB but its a jl amp .

i just talked to JL audio on the phone yesterday and i was told it is $90 to repair a JL 500/1 because the shop i work at recently sent one back for repair and JL called yesterday and i spoke to them so i would give them a call

Emailed them a couple times. Very quick responses. They say they can easily fix the amp for $75. In depth testing is only $5 additional. 90 day warranty to boot.

I think I wll go this route.
