Hey everybody,

I hooked up my system in my car the other day. Amp is used but sub is brand new along with all of the wiring. I used a Stinger LOC due to having the stock head unit.

My problem is this....

I have wired many systems before so I know everything is plugged in or connected to the correct areas. The sub is definitely getting power. It is being pushed but not to what it should be. Today at lunch I went over a bump and the sub hit real hard but that was it. The ground and power wires are connected very well. I am just lost at what this could be. Bad RCA's? they are Monster.

any help would be greatly appreciated

possibly but i haven't figured out how to get it out of the box...it is a pre-loaded 10" L7 in a kicker box...I tried to get the **** thing out but couldn't. Guess i have to try again

it was i think about 25 dollar stinger one. nothing outrageous but i had an 8 dollar one in a few of my cars that worked great so im not sure. but would that make the sub work just not full out and then if i hit a bump while the car is jerking around the sub is working and then after it goes back to hardly moving at all?

Local audio store here carries 1 brand for every vehicle they can. They hate when it's a special order of a different brand on some vehicles. They said you can guarantee to install 2 that are worthless before finally making the third work.

take a flat head screwdriver and work around the sub. stick your arm in the port and push the sub as you work around the sub. I had a hard time getting one of the pre loaded box too. As far as the problem you're having, its probably the LOC or RCA's I know my RCAs went bad and they did exactly what you are saying your system did.

It sounds like a loose wire somewhere, but if you've double checked over everything and that can't be out, last thing to do is get the sub out. Fail on the pre-fab box. But hopefully it's a loose wire on the sub so you don't have to look at a new LOC or your RCA connections.

ok i pulled the sub out...discconnected the wires(they seemed to look fine) and then reconnected them. I tried 3 different rca wires i had and still nothing. I tried a different set of 10's that i had and STILL nothing. Going to try and rewire my LOC and hopefully that will be it. If not then I guess I will have to try a new LOC. Any suggestions? I don't really want to spend $100 on those audio control pieces.

ok another update...i rewired the LOC to make sure that was secure and for sure now it is...still hardly anything. Now when i take the RCA's and plug all of them in except for one on the amp, i hold it to the outside of where its supposed to plug in, the sub hits like it should. I tried 3 different types of RCA wires so I am sure its not my RCA wires. Could it be the RCA connection on the amp is bad?
