JL 300/4 repair or what?

Looking for some advice.....

I am currently running JL amps in my truck. Here is everything:

Alpine IVA-NAV1 to a H701, running three way active in the front and a single sub

JL 500/1 running a 10w6V2

JL 300/2 running 6.5" Hertz HSK mids as midbass

JL 300/4 running the HSK tweeters and Legatia L3s as mids

That being said, I plan on replacing the HSK mids with Legatia L6s that I just bought, and follow up with some Legatia tweeters to replace the HSK tweeters.

The problem is that one of the 300/4 channels has a distorted output and needs repair. The question is do I send it in to JL to repair it for $150 or so, or do I sell off my JL amps and go with something else? Any recommendations on some amplification? Sundown? Saw some great deals on some Boston GT amps? I am going for an SQ setup.

A few guys on here could repair it for less then that. FYI

Excellent, I've heard JL can take FOREVER to get a repair completed. Any names?
I'll chime in on this. My brother bought 4 new 13W7s from an authorized dealer in LA. He blew 2 of the 4 within the first 5 days. It took him over 4 months to receive the subs back.

Yeah, I have heard similar issues with quite a few other people as well, which makes me hesitant to do it through them.
I'd hit up Amp Medics. I always hear great things about their work and customer service. I've never used them, but check them out. And I'm pretty sure they're cheaper than JL. Sending that amp back to JL would be like taking your car to the dealership for a brake job... guaranteed to get ***** price wise.

Ugh.....so apparently DB-r and Amp Medics don't touch Slash amplifiers..... Not sure at this point if sending to JL is the only option.....

D@mn, I'm sorry to hear that man. This is the huge downside of buying JL products, no one wants to touch them.

Yeah, huge bummer. They both said they don't repair them due to a lot of proprietary parts that JL uses. I'll just send it in and see what happens. Thanks for the info though.
