hey guys..my wife drives a 2006 honda pilot on which she wants to replace the factory amp

and subwoofer.my she already looked around for the subwoofer she wants and its a

Pioneer TS-SW2501S4 10-Inch.the question is.will the JL 250/1 be sufficient for that sub or will she

need a stronger amp???

i recommend stepping up to the 500/1,and with stock electrical you should get approx. 250rms out of the amp,even the 300/1 you are looking at 160 rms below 14.4v,didnt find the sub, but i believe its a svc 4ohm sub with 300rms,a dvc 2ohm subwoofer will allow more/most out of the amplifier @2ohms,getting the most out of the amplifier for your money

Look into the jl audio j2 500.1 they are rated at 300rms at 4 ohms

if I remember right, and I got mine for $75.00

Edit: the j2 500.1 puts out. 340w at 4ohms, and the sub is rated at 300, so it might be a little much

keep the gain minimum, and you will be just fine

i seen on ebay the jl audio jx500/1.and is rated at the same as the jl 500/1. whats the difference here?which one is a better buy?

the ratings on these amps are at 14 volts.the battery outputs 12 volt.so how do i get 14 volts.

sorry if the question is kind of stupid but im new to this..

When your alternator is running, it produces between 13.8 and 14.4 volts, but when the car is off it only produces 12-12.8

looks like the jx500/1 is a newer model,and puts out good power continus at 12.5v, and has an unregulated supply,even better specs than the jx500/1d.if it were me..id get the jx500/1
